| This late nineteenth century building was originally known as the ‹Hotel Hinterer Adler›. The Hackl-Schmid family, owners of the past 40 years, have fully renovated this protected property. The hotel offers 16 beds and 1 holiday flat. |

The interior of the sixties ‹Hotel Alfa› was completely renovated in 1992. In 2001 the façade was given a complete facelift. The hotel offers 35 beds. |

| Having now stayed at the Schmid + Alfa on a number of occasions we can thoroughly recommend it, we have always appreciated the effort in providing us with an English menu, the service & food have never disappointed. We have stayed in both Hotels and feel that they both represent excellent value. The location of Brunnen within the central region of Switzerland is excellent, the rail and steamer service makes it so easy to travel both locally and further afield. | We stayed with you from 1st May to 11th May. Please know that we enjoyed our stay very much indeed, and that we hope to return some day. Everyone at the hotel and in the restaurant was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is mentioned in the 'Lonely Planet' guide to Switzerland, and I am sending the publishers our recommendation that they continue to include Hotel Schmid Alfa in the Guide. | This is just to say, as we didn't see you when we left on Thursday morning, how much we enjoyed our stay with you, everything was just as we hoped it would be. We were very well looked after, your staff are friendly and efficient, the cooking was delicious, the bed was very comfortable, and the view from the window in our room could have been taken from the book 'Hotel du Lac' by Anita Brookner, she won the Booker Prize as few years ago. | We are writing to thank you all for a lovely holiday. We loved the Schmid Hotel and our room and balcony with the fabulous views. The food was great and the staff were all so lovely and looked after us so well. The Swiss Pass was great too - that added so much to our holiday. | Thanks so much for the wonderful stay at your apt in the Hotel Schmid in late June. Your hotel and view are outstanding. Your staff are all very friendly and we felt welcome and lucky to have found you. We will highly recommmend you to any of our friends and hopefully will be back to stay with you again in the future. Thanks as well for letting us store our bike boxes while we were in Europe and pick them up on our stay on the way back. Your hospitality was greatly appreciated. Thanks again. |
